Required Browser Set-up

In order to use PC Branch, you must have the appropriate browser and the appropriate settings.  If you need to download a copy of the latest browsers from the Netscape and Microsoft websites, please use the following links:

Netscape Navigator 4.05 or greater:

The following configuration is mandatory in order for PC Branch to function correctly on your PC or Macintosh. Note that if this configuration is not implemented, the security of your PC Branch account could be compromised.
 
From the Edit menu:

1. Select Preferences: Click on Appearance from the left hand menu, then click on Fonts

  • From Use the Variable width Font: click on the arrow to choose the font
  • From Font: select Times New Roman
  • From Size: select 12 From Use the Fixed Font: click on the arrow to choose the font
  • From Font: select Courier New
  • From Size: select 10
  • Click on: OK


2. Select File Preferences : Click on Advanced from menu on the left

  • Select Enable JavaScript
  • Click on: OK

3. From the top menu select Communicator Security information: Click on Navigator from the menu on the left.

Advanced Security (SSL) Configuration

  • From SSL: select Enable SSL v2
  • From SSL: select Enable SSL v3
  • Click on: OK
     

Internet Explorer 4.x:

The following configuration is mandatory in order for PC Branch to function correctly on your PC or Macintosh. Note that if this configuration is not implemented, the security of your PC Branch account could be compromised.

From the Tools Menu Internet Options:
1. Click on Advanced

  • Scroll To Security
  • Select:  SSL 2.0 & SSL 3.0
  • Click on: OK
  • Security Tab
  • Custom Level
  • Scroll Down To Check For Signatures On Down Loaded Programs
  • Enable allow cookies that are stored on your computer
  • Enable per session cookies
  • Click on: OK

Due to an issue acknowledged by Microsoft, having Content Advisor enabled can cause problems with secure sites.  If you are having problems logging into PC Branch, please make sure that your Content Advisor is disabled.  Go to Tools, Internet Options - Select the Content tab and clink on disable under Content Advisor.
