About DuTrac

A community partner since 1946.

DuTrac was founded by John Deere Dubuque Tractor Works employees who wanted to offer their fellow coworkers an alternative to commercial banks and other for-profit financial institutions. With one office within the plant, 56 members, and a little over $2,000 in deposits and outstanding loans of $1,195, DuTrac became a reality in 1946.

Today, we serve individuals and families in a 21-county area, and continue to be a not-for-profit cooperative, existing solely to serve our 49,000+ members rather than to maximize corporate profits. That means any profits earned are returned to the members in the form of lower loan rates and higher deposit rates—unlike a bank where profits go into the pockets of investors and stockholders. When you become a DuTrac member, you also become an owner.

Volunteer Board of Directors

We’re proud to be governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. These individuals work together to plan general policy and provide strategic insight to ensure we are offering the services you deserve as a member owner. Each board member serves for three years.
